Infertility
In general, infertility is defined as not being able to get pregnant (conceive) after one year (or longer) of unprotected sex. Because fertility in women is known to decline steadily with age, Dr. Gueye recommends the evaluation and treatment of women aged 35 years or older after 6 months of unprotected sex. Although some women will need a referral to a specialist such as a reproductive endocrinologist, Dr. Gueye is able to assist many women with infertility towards their pregnancy goal before this referral ever becomes necessary. A careful evaluation of your situation, test results, medical history, and partner's tests will allow Dr. Gueye to come up with the best plan for you. Women often find that they save thousands of dollars by seeing a gynecologist that is well versed in many infertility issues, such as Dr. Gueye, without ever needing to see an REI in some cases.
